Linking Embed Links to Product Families and Products

In addition to file assets, you can link embedded video links to Product Families and Products directly from the Assets tab. This lets you associate external videos — such as product demos, installation guides, or CAD walkthroughs — with your product records.

Roles: Editors and Admins can add and remove embed links. Viewer roles have read-only access to the Assets tab.

  1. Open a Product Family or Product form.

  2. Click the Assets tab.

Use the toggle icons at the top right of the Assets tab to switch between Tile View and Table View.

In Table View, use the switch to toggle between:

  • File Assets — uploaded files linked to this record.

  • Embed Links — embedded video links linked to this record.

  1. In the Assets tab, click Add.

  2. From the menu, select Embed Link.

  3. The embed link tile drawer opens, showing thumbnails of available links from your Embed Link Library.

  1. Click a tile to preview the embed in a modal.

  2. Select the embed link to attach it to this Product Family or Product.

  3. The embed link now appears in both Tile View and Table View under the Embed Links toggle.

Note: Viewer roles cannot see the unlink, apply, or batch action controls.

In Table View, you can also change the asset type of linked file assets:

  1. Select one or more assets using the checkboxes.

  2. Click Edit Asset Type in the selection toolbar.

  3. Choose the new asset type and save.
